Not being really hungry, I thought I’d order the French onion soup and Welsh rarebit. After following this up with the bread and butter pudding, I was big as a house. So much for not eating a lot.
In my search for the perfect vintage cocktail, I decided to try their version of the classic drink the Sidecar. Holy cow, I was in nirvana. It was so delicious, just like candy. Since this night I’ve had sidecars in other bars and restaurants and no one comes close. I’ve even tried the classic recipe from the Savoy Cocktail Book. Still not as good as this one. I read on someone’s post somewhere awhile back they may use lime juice instead of lemon, but I don’t know if that is true or not. Guess I’ll just have to try. And with the “sidecar” you get with your Sidecar, it’s like two drinks in one.
It is a la carte, so can get pricey quickly, but for a special occasion or just because, it is a fun experience.
